Welcome to adventure at Gasconade Bend

While staying at one of our retreats, request a tour of our 530-acre farm along the Gasconade River with scenic forests, open meadows, and rich history for the perfect escape from the noise of everyday life!  Whether you’re here to explore, unwind, or simply soak in the views, there is something here for everyone.

500+ acres of pure adventure

  • A house with a green roof is surrounded by colorful autumn trees, with a deck and a small railing in a park-like setting.

    Surrounded by Forest

The Arbor Cabin sits at the end of a quiet country road, nestled in the enchanting forest we call Inspire Grove—named for the way it inspired us to create more sanctuaries like this one. From your deck, watch deer wander through the trees, enjoy seasonal colors in spring, summer, and fall, and set out on both marked and hidden trails waiting to be discovered.

  • Two women sitting on a large rock overlooking a river with lush green trees surrounding the area.

    A Hidden Cliff View

Just a short walk from the cabin’s road, you’ll find a breathtaking rock cliff overlooking the valley and the Gasconade River below. This secluded vantage point offers a postcard-worthy panorama. Guests are welcome to visit this spot—just be cautious, as there are no railings or fences.

  • Two all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) parked near a river, with dense green trees in the background.

    Guided farm tour

Our farm is a diverse mix of forest, open fields, ponds, river bends, and dramatic cliff views. For those who wish to explore deeper, your hosts offer a one-hour guided tour highlighting the property’s natural beauty and historic sites. Tours are given in our vehicles or ATVs, though guests with high-clearance vehicles are welcome to follow. Availability depends on weather, river levels, and our schedule.

  • A man in a black cap and casual clothes relaxing in a red outdoor chair on a wooded lakeshore, watching two people fishing from kayaks in a greenish river.

    River Access

The Gasconade River wraps around our farm on three sides, with two access points about 1–2 miles from the cabin. These are ideal spots for fishing, kayaking, or a leisurely float. River access depends on weather and flooding, so conditions may vary during your stay.

  • Two people standing in front of an old, large stone tower covered in green vines and surrounded by trees and lush greenery.

    1928 Grain Silo Tower

One of two historic landmarks on site of our property, built nearly a century ago by local hands, this sturdy tower still stands tall, proudly bearing the carved names of its builders in the stonework.

  • A weathered, old gravestone with the inscription, 'James G. Grandock, born Mar. 28, 1828, died Dec. 18, 1883,' partially obscured by grass and leaves.

    1800 Cemetery

The second historic landmark is our cemetery. Once part of a pioneer settlement, this small cemetery—now in a grazing field—contains over a dozen gravestones, connecting today’s visitors with the land’s earliest families.

  • A grassy field with large trees under a partly cloudy sky.

    The Meadow

A dreamy, open expanse with views of the river, destined to be the site of a future cottage castle. Even now, it has a storybook, medieval charm.

  • Scenic countryside at sunset with a wooden swing in the foreground, open field with hay bales, trees, and a colorful sky.

    The Orchard

Planted in 2025 with several apple trees, our hillside orchard offers the perfect spot to watch the sunset.

  • Sunset pond view of rolling grass hills and serene water.

    The Ponds

Visit Sunset Pond, Fieldstone Pond, or the Hidden Pond. One is an easy catch-and-release fishing spot close to the cabin. The other two ponds are new and will provide a beautiful spot to have a picnic or paddle around on.

We love giving guests quad runner tours of the farm! contact us for more info.
